WSJ Issue 23.jpg
Theme: Dreams

Word Count: 1500 words

Genre: We are looking for both fiction and nonfiction pieces in all formats – short stories, memoirs, poetry, journalistic articles, flash fiction/nonfiction, think pieces, etc.

More about our theme: Our theme for this issue is dreams. Whether that be the goals and aspirations you aim to achieve throughout your life or the fantasies that live in your head while you’re asleep, dreams are a key component to the human experience. Whichever direction the writer chooses to take, dreams can be interpreted in any sense. The different interpretations can be intertwined to create a piece of work that inspires who you are as a writer and who you aim to be. In all genres, dreams can be portrayed as the things we want the most out of life, the nightmares that haunt us while we sleep, or the daydreams we hyper focus on during the most mundane part of our lives. Think of your dreams subjectively, allowing the reader to connect to your piece in a more personal way. Consciously or unconsciously, which prospects of your dreams haunt you the most?

Submission Process: Submissions should be sent via email to wellsstreetjournaleditorial@gmail.com with the subject line: “Wells Street Journal Submission – Issue 22 – [Your Name].”

Please attach your submission as either a Word document or PDF file only. In the body of the email, please include your full name, contact information, and a brief author bio (50 words).

Submission Deadline: 13th January, 2025

Selection Process: Submissions will be reviewed by our managerial team. We are looking for well-crafted, resonant pieces that effectively incorporate the theme of “dreams.” Selected authors will be notified via email. If your piece is shortlisted, our editorial team will collaborate with you to refine and polish it. We’ll send back edited drafts for your review and approval.

Publication Rights: By submitting your work to the Wells Street Journal, you grant us the right to publish your story in the specified issue and use excerpts for promotional purposes on our website and social media platforms.

We look forward to receiving your submissions. If you have any questions or need further information, contact us at wellsstreetjournaleditorial@gmail.com.
